Minutes of Meeting
Held January 26, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. on January 26, 2009 of the Mechanicville Civil Service Commission.

The minutes of the previous meeting held on October 27, 2008 were read and approved.
The Commission received a letter from the New York State Dept. of Civil Service approving our resolution amending the Text of the City of Mechanicville Civil Service Rules.
The Commission was informed by a Policy Advisory Report from Department of Civil Service of new laws affecting personnel/civil service administration. The Commission had a brief discussion on the changes.
The following Report of Personnel changes were approved:
a) Richard Llewellyn went on Military Leave of Absence on 11/11/08.
b) David DeCelle resigned as Police Lieutenant and was reinstated back to Police Investigator on 1/1/09.
c) William Rabbitt was appointed from the Eligible list as Police Lieutenant as of 1/1/09.
d) Matthew Wood resigned as Cleaner on 12/11/08 from the School District.
Old Business
The Commission discussed the upcoming examinations to be held on February 7, 2009. We have received three applications for School Bus Dispatcher and one application for Sr. Library Clerk. The Commission also discussed one Police Officer candidate who applied for alternate test date for Police Officer. It was agreed to administer that exam on February 7.
New Business
It’s that time of year again – the secretary will be filling out the Examinations Fee Report and the Annual Report to be handed in by March 1, 2009.
Also, the commission discussed keeping the website up to date. The Secretary will forward a note to John D’Aloia to add James Thompson as a new commissioner and remove Charles D’Avignon. Also added will be the minutes of each meeting.
The Commission has requested a list of all board members within City Council as well as Housing and Library.
